Creative Karma Institute is registered through Yoga Alliance for the 200-hour level teacher training program.  Upon successful completion of necessary coursework and requirements, graduates of the teacher training program will be eligible to receive the RYT 200 designation through Yoga Alliance.

With over 25 years of teaching experience spanning from early childhood and elementary school to college and adult education; Shaker has taught students with special needs and diverse cultural backgrounds. He takes an interdisciplinary approach toward teaching and learning. A variety of teaching modalities, including yoga practice, discussion, reflective journal assignments, teaching observation, practicum, and creative interpretation are used to help students understand and model teaching techniques.

Creative Karma combines the art of yoga with the art of teaching through pedagogical techniques, theories, and best practices.  Fundamental techniques, methodology, anatomy and physiology, combined with yogic philosophy and history are taught and reviewed throughout the program. Students will reflect upon these concepts and apply them to their own practice and teaching.

Practicum opportunities range from working with high school and college students to observing senior instructors and professors in the field. A graduate of the program will have the skills and confidence to teach yoga in a variety of settings.

Like yoga, this certification program is customized and builds on each student’s individual strengths. The program draws upon each student’s own creativity and perspective to create a unique personal teaching style.
